Both Phones together

While talking of the better one between Samsung Galaxy Y and HTC Explorer, decision is dependent on your choice.

Both the smartphones are the best ones in their price ranges and are really competitive with one another.

The review below might help you in deciding which one is better and might help you in buying yourself a phone much suited to your requirements.

Samsung Galaxy Y:

Samsung Galaxy Y is an amazing smartphone released in October, 2011 and has Android version 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) with 830Mhz ARM v6 CPU.

Body and Display:

Its dimentions are 104 x 58 x 11.5 mm (4.09 x 2.28 x 0.45 in) and Weight 97.5g.
Display: 240 x 320 pixels, 3.0 inches (~133 parts per inch pixel density)

Other Features:

– Memory Card: MicroSD upto 32 GB

– Internal Memory: 180MB

– RAM: 290MB

– WLan: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality

– Camera: 2MP (1600×1200) with geo-tagging and 15fps Video recording

– Bluetooth 3.0 and MicroUSB 2.0 support

HTC Explorer also released in October, 2011 just after the release of Galaxy Y and has Android version 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) with 600Mhz Cortex A5 CPU.

Its dimentions are 102.8 x 57.2 x 12.9 mm (4.05 x 2.25 x 0.51 in) and a bit heavier then Galaxy Y with a weight of 108g.

Display: 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches (~180 parts per inch pixel density) with HTC Sense UI 3.5

– Internal Memory: 90MB
– RAM: 512MB
– WLan: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality

Battery Timing:

I created a separate section of Battery Timing, because in my case (and might be of many others) it is very important.

I never buy a phone before taking into account its battery timing, standby time, talk-time and most importantly a term which is developed by me, named “Experienced Time”, which in fact is the real battery lasting time of a phone recorded by Phone users. I you have one of these two phones, please share your actual battery timing and that you are satisfied with it or not.

Now, lets look to our being-reviewed phones.

Galaxy Y:

Experienced Time: 2-3 days (with countinous 3G internet usage 4 hours+ hours a day)

HTC Explorer:

Talk-time: Up to 7 h 40 min (2G) / Up to 7 h 33 min (3G)

Now, choosing the better phone between these two is absolutely up to you and your requirements.

As for me!
I’d choose Galaxy Y, because of its simpler yet faster UI and also lack of technical faults which I experienced while testing HTC Explorer of a friend of mine. Major of which was a lot of problem while transferring Bluetooth data and low battery timing. Correct me by commenting below if you think me wrong.
