Apparently, many mobile manufacturers are now adopting 3D Touch feature after it introduced by Apple for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Google has recently updated Drive to support 3D Touch feature. WhatsApp, Dropbox and other apps are enabling 3D touch feature. Microsoft’s One Drive has already got an update to enable support for this feature.
Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have pressure sensitive display that acknowledges the amount of pressure applied by user when touched and responds immediately. When you hard-press on an icon, it displays important actions without needing to open the app.
Google Drive 4.4 supports Split View and Slide Over multitasking features, which enables user to drag and drop files from other apps and open multiple apps along with Drive, side by side.
This 3D Touch functionality is now available on Drive 4.4 version. You can upload photos without even opening Drive app by just hard-pressing it’s icon. Google has also enabled push notification support for Drive when new file receives. It also has a security update, you can now protect your files and folders on Drive with pin protection.
