Good news to iOS users. Microsoft has released Cortana iOS beta. Unfortunately this beta testing is limited to 2000 users in the US and China.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had initiated this project as a part of the “cloud first” method. Microsoft has been working to provide its apps to other operating systems like Android and iOS. Nevertheless, some of the additional features of Cortana app which are available in Windows and Android will not be available in the iOS version. It is obvious that Cortana iOS app isn’t a replacement for Siri.
According to Warenotice, Microsoft happens to be releasing the Cortana for iOS beta towards the first-round of this month to people who requested the beta plan. Warenotice posted several screenshots of Cortana operating on an iPhone, and obtained an invitation to check the application.
Microsoft is currently utilizing Apple’s TestFlight beta-testing system, Apple permitted system for distributing betas on approved iOS methods with some restrictions. Especially, TestFlight enables a beta application to be distributed by developers to 2000 testers only, and application beta intervals may operate for approximately 60 times as Warenotice highlights.
If you aren’t among the few that are fortunate to obtain within this beta plan, you’ll need to wait for the final official release of Cortana for iOS app.
